About Bang Niang Tourist Market
Bang Niang Market is the most popular market among tourists. It’s easily accessible from the main road and it’s near the tsunami memorial park with the stranded police boat 813. It’s also accessible from the back, passing the Green Pepper restaurant.
Coming from the main road you will be engulfed with multiple food and drink stands. There are all sorts of easy-to-grab snacks and sweets, and you can toss anything you like on one of the BBQ grills.
If you survive the food mania and walk through the smell of fried-everything, you will find many fashion and souvenir shops. There are multiple vendors selling clothes, bags, house decorative items, body lotions, exotic scents, beach toys, inflatables, and much, much more.
There is one lane, on the far right coming from the main road, with vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood. It’s conveniently close to the Bang Niang restaurants, so you might spot some staff coming in for a quick grab of something they forgot to buy or quickly ran out of on a busy high-season evening!
Opening Times
The Bang Niang market is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 till 23:00. The best time to visit would be between 14:00 and 19:00.
