On March 28, 2025, at approximately 12:50 PM local time, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Sagaing Region, Central Myanmar. This was the most significant seismic event in the country since 1912. To this date, the earthquake has caused over 3,000 deaths and more than 4,500 injuries. Tens of thousands of buildings were destroyed, including residential homes, religious centers, historical sites, and critical infrastructure. Yet thousands of people remain suffering, trapped under the rubble without food, water or medical aid and are in need of emergency aid.
